The Swing Governor
Swing Governor ˙˙˙˙˙ The objective of using the Swing GovernorT is to stabilize your lower body so when you coil, your body is in an athletically balanced position, ready to execute a solid golf swing. The Swing Governor stabilizes your lower body for balance and control Tip: To assist you create the correct movements described below, use a mirror (or a reflective surface) to monitor your actions. 1.Address Position (For a right hand player) The Swing GovernorT helps with the alignment of:  Stance  Feet  Knees  Balance The Swing GovernorT should be parallel to the ground 2.Back Swing (Coil Motion)  The Swing GovernorT encourages a stable right knee  The Swing GovernorT will resist your left knee moving excessively and thus producing a coil between the lower and upper body.  Your upper body should have turned 90 degrees while your hips should have only turned 35 degrees.  The Swing GovernorT should still be parallel to the ground and the spring in the Swing GovernorT will be slightly compressed. 3.Down Swing (Coil Lower Torso) On your downswing your left foot, left knee, left hip and stomach move slightly, laterally to the left. Then the hips rotate through with the right hip slightly lower than the left hip. This action causes the Swing GovernorT to be forced out by the rear leg, just before impact. 4. Finish Position With the Swing GovernorT now released, and hanging down below your right hip, you are able to complete a natural follow through. Summary 1. At address the Swing GovernorT is held in the horizontal position by inward pressure of the legs. 2. On the backswing the Swing GovernorT is compressed due to the left leg trying to fold in. 3. On the downswing the Swing GovernorT stays in position until just prior to impact when it is forced out by rear leg. 4.
